Ken Hildebrandt

Ken grew up around the Abbotsford Airport and the world-famous Abbotsford International Airshow. As a child, he would gaze skyward, enamored by the aerial displays of the annual events, dreaming of the day he could take to the skies. While he was certainly enthralled with the incredible loops and flying machines at the airshows, his amazement extended to the airshow announcers, recognizing their role in bringing excitement to life for the spectators.

His 40+ year interest in aviation turned into an announcer career under the mentorship of Bob Singleton and Roy Hafeli in 2005. Since then, he has had the privilege of announcing airshows across Canada and western United States, with some notable ones being the Abbotsford International Airshow near Vancouver, the Canadian International Airshow in Toronto and the California International Airshow in Salinas, CA. He was recently named an honorary member of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, Canada’s national display team and is one of a few civilian announcers to have narrated an official performance for the team.

Ken's background in theatre as a producer, director, and actor, combined with his private pilot's license which he obtained in 2006, adds depth and authenticity to his commentary, engaging audiences and bringing the thrill of aviation to life. His motto, "Entertain - Educate - Inspire," reflects his commitment to providing informative and captivating commentary that immerses spectators in the world of aviation.”
